Colleton County Fire-Rescue, Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Colleton County School District assisted by other local and state agencies, will conduct an exercise at Colleton County High School on Friday, March 15, 2024. The exercise will begin around 9 am and will conclude around 1 PM. There will be a large presence of Fire-Rescue, Law Enforcement, and School District personnel, vehicles and equipment in the area. The exercise has been planned in conjunction with a teacher work day, and no students will be on campus during the exercise. Traffic on Jefferies Highway (U.S. HWY 15) in the vicinity of Cougar Nation Drive may experience delays during the exercise. Colleton County officials want to reiterate this is only an exercise used for training and evaluation.  Again, THIS IS AN EXERCISE.

Colleton County Fire-Rescue will also be conducting an exercise at West Bank Landing in Jacksonboro on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.  West Bank Landing will be largely inaccessible to the public due to the number of Fire-Rescue apparatus present between 7:00 AM that morning until shortly after lunchtime.  Community members are encouraged to avoid the area, if possible.  Be aware that a number of emergency vehicles (fire engines, ambulances, etc.) will be in the Jacksonboro area and at West Bank Landing on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
