Chosen by God

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.

Ephesians 1:4

Some people live their entire lives oblivious to God or things pertaining to God. These people live in the same world the rest of us do, but where

one might see the evidence of a loving God, the other sees no

such evidence. Many of us have moments of awareness that cause us to wonder if we should be more intentional about God, but most of these

same people are soon distracted and back to their routine of life without much thought. Within the multitudes of people are individuals who seem to understand that this life is incomplete without a growing relationship with God. These people understand that truth is found in the Bible, fellowship is found in the Church, and their relationship with God matures in prayer.

Of these various groups of people, which group of people is chosen by God to have a relationship with him? Which group do you want to belong to? Although Jesus died for the sins of the world, not everyone will receive

the gift of salvation. Jesus calls sinners to follow him and find rest for their weariness in him, but not everyone will answer his call.

Those who answer Jesus’ call, follow him. Jesus leads hose whom he has chosen to begin a process that transforms a sinful life to become “holy and blameless.” A real relationship with Jesus is becoming more like

Jesus. A life that claims Christ but is not becoming more like Christ is not connected to Christ. If you were chosen by God, you were chosen to be holy in his sight. Would you consider surrendering your life to Jesus today?
