Colleton County Fire-Rescue’s Community Emergency Response Team’s (CERT) is looking for members. CERT is part of Fire-Rescue’s Emergency Management Division and consists of volunteer personnel that are trained in disaster preparedness and basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Through CERT, Colleton County Fire-Rescue’s capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters are enhanced. CERT members meet once a month to train in various aspects of the organization to allow them to be a part of the Response Team during emergencies and assist the Department during events such as the Rice Festival.
