The Cougars got an outstanding pitching performance from Da’Veon Varner, who threw a complete game, striking out 15 and allowing only two hits, shutting out Lucy Beckman High School, 7-0.

They took advantage of walks in six innings, as well as collecting one hit each from J.C. Poe, Cam Farnsworth and Michael Ortiz. Ortiz had a two run RBI, while Varner, Julian Snelgrove and Brian Hamilton also hit RBIs.

In a rematch against the Lucy Beckman High School Bengals, the Cougars would score multiple times in each of the first four innings, to take a commanding lead cruising to a crushing victory, 11-1.

Southpaw Gabe Wolf limited the Bengals to several hits while striking out six, in a complete game pitched.

At bat, Farnsworth, Poe and Ortiz each stroked two hits apiece, with Farnsworth, Poe and Xavier Oxner driving in two RBIs each.

The Cougars record now stands at 7-7.
