Bedon-Lucas House Unveils Interpretive Panels

Posted

The Bedon-Lucas House at 205 Church Street will be unveiling four new interpretive panels on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 pm. The Colleton County Historical Society (CCHAPS) says that the panels are designed for visitors to learn about the house, the Little Library, and Hickory Valley. CCHAPS will be “Unveiling the Panels” with a reception, immediately followed by a program, “Unveiling the Past: Bedon-Lucas House.” The program will be presented by CCHAPS President Debi Gilliam, who will reveal the story of the house and its families. New and rediscovered research will add to our collective knowledge of the beloved 206-year-old property. CCHAPS will be unveiling an interpretive panel at the Little Library and two for the Bedon-Lucas House. In addition, the weather-etched panel of Hickory Valley will be replaced. All four panels were professionally designed and were made possible by a grant from the Colleton County ATAX monies.

Everyone is invited to come out to learn more about local history! For more information on this or other CCHAPS activities, call 843 549-9633,emailinfo@cchaps.com, or follow us on Facebook at Colleton County Historical Society, or Instagram @colletonhistory.
