Three Band of Blue members from Colleton County High School earned chairs in the 2026 South Carolina Band Directors Association Region 4 Honor Band Clinic

The Clinic was held this past weekend at Summers Corner Performing Arts Center in Summerville.

Each January, over 1300 high school and middle school band students from Colleton, Charleston, Dorchester, Beaufort, Jasper, Bamberg, Barnwell, Orangeburg, Clarendon, Allendale, and Hampton counties audition for chairs in the four levels of concert bands that practice and perform together at the region clinic. Earning a chair in the Region Band honors is the highest individual honor a band member can receive.

Students were placed in either Junior Symphonic or Concert for (7-8), Clinic (9-10), or Senior (11-12) bands for the weekend.

Earning Honors from Colleton County High School in Clinic Band (9-10) from the Band of Blue are Percussionist Caleb Creel, Trumpeter Reese Hiers and Bass Clarinetist Francisco Martinez.

The Band of Blue and Colleton County Middle School Bands are now preparing for SCBDA State Jazz and Concert Festival later in March.

Band of Blue Winter Guards and Winter Percussion are also in the middle of their competitive season that will end in April.

Band Directors are Tom Finigan, Nick Infinger, Clay Blackwood, and Cathy Meshach. Guard Instructor is Jason Johnson and the Band of Blue Staff includes Taylor Fussell, Lilly Boyert, Anthony Crimely, Tibbie Walling, and George Ritchie.
