PRESS RELEASE. SouthernCarolina Alliance is partnering with Allendale County, Agracel, and the South Carolina Department of Commerce to construct a 50,000 square-foot expandable spec building within the Pointe Salkehatchie Industrial Park, located on Hwy 278 at 2987 Allendale-Fairfax Highway in Fairfax.

“Being ready for prospective industry is key to sustained economic development success, especially in our state’s rural communities. This new speculative building positions Allendale County for the future, and we appreciate the partnerships that are helping make this project a reality,” said Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey, III.

The Pointe Salkehatchie Industrial Park is an established 130-acre, certified “shovel ready” industrial park. AKPA Kimya, an international producer of organic peroxide, is also located at the park, having purchased the first spec building built there. The new spec building will provide a much-needed, first-class industrial building to attract industrial prospects to the county.

“Allendale County is pleased to partner with the SC Department of Commerce, SouthernCarolina Alliance and private developers in this important marketing effort to attract new industries to our community,” said Allendale County Council Chairman Rick Gooding. “The spec building helps shorten start up time for a company looking to locate in the Southeast, and Allendale County provides an outstanding location with proximity to major seaports and interstates.”

Construction is scheduled to begin in June. Pointe Salkehatchie Industrial Park is located at 2987 Allendale-Fairfax Hwy (278), Fairfax, SC.
