A two-year old male was severely injured after being mauled by several pit bulls at a residence in the 100 block of Riva Ridge Lane near Ions Cross Crossroads. According to witnesses, the dogs entered the yard and attacked the child dragging him across the yard. The child suffered multiple lacerations. The toddler was transported to Shawn Jenkins Children’s Trauma Center at MUSC. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office and Animal Services are investigating the incident.
