In a matter of months, the vehicle modification known as the “Carolina Squat” will be prohibited in South Carolina. Upon implementation, Senate Bill 363 will prohibit drivers from having a truck or SUV where the front fender is raised four or more inches above the height of the rear fender. When the bill takes effect, 180 days after it was signed, any driver with the front fender four or more inches above the height of the back fender, will be fined twice before having their license suspended for a year. Until the law goes into effect, warning tickets will be given for violations.
