The Special Board Meeting of the Colleton County School District was called to order by Chairperson Patricia Simmons July 6, 2023. Board Member Witkin attended via teleconference. In a moving invocation Chairperson Simmons asked for guidance for the Board in all decisions they make keeping foremost in mind the children of the Colleton County School District and the district itself . She also asked for healing and support for the people of Colleton County in the wake of several tragedies that have occurred recently.
After the invocation a motion was made, seconded and carried unanimously that the Board go into Executive Session. Upon return a motion was made, seconded, and carried unanimously to return to open session. Board Member Witkin attended via teleconference.
A motion was made to accept recommendation for professional staff separation given to the Board July 6, 2023. The motion was seconded and carried with a vote of 5 yay and 1 nay.
A motion was made to accept the recommendation for staff employment items 1-8. The motion was seconded and carried with a vote of 5 yay and 1 nay.
A motion was made to accept administrative staff recommendations for professional staff employment 2023-2024 given to the Board July 6, 2023. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
A motion was made to accept recommendations for administrative staff transfer items 1-2. The motion was seconded and carried with a vote of 5 yay and 1 nay.
The meeting was concluded, and a motion was made and seconded for adjournment and carried unanimously.
