Decent People, is a book about a small town on the Carolina coast. In this small town a well-known and wealthy family dominates the landscape with their influence. In this small town two members of this family have been murdered. It all sounds a little familiar, but the town in De’Shawn Charles Winslow’s book is West Mills, North Carolina. Decent People is the second book about the fictional town of West Mills. Winslow’s book In West Mills, the town and its’ residents are introduced during the 1940’s. Decent People views the town in the 1970’s. Murder, intrigue, romantic relationships, family relationships and the “South” all come together for a view into this small southern town.
