Superintendent Jessica F. Williams’ response to County Council’s Decision to deny a millage increase on August 27, 2024

As the Colleton County School District moves forward, we will continue to work towards unifying our school district and all community stakeholders. Our mission is to prepare students to graduate with a 21st Century Education to be globally competitive for their chosen college and/or career path. We are certainly doing that. At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, Colleton County School District students attained many accomplishments. A few of those accomplishments include the following:

CCSD Class of 2024 graduates earned scholarships totaling over $7 million dollars.

CCSD Class of 2024 had 14 students receive a USC-Salkehatchie Associate Degree through the Early College Program.

134 students graduated as CTE Completers of which 10 were double completers and 1 triple completer

Health Science students achieved a 100% passage rate for CNA Certification

The number of students receiving a high school diploma increased from 270 to 303.

The Teacher Pay Scale has been raised to the state minimum with a beginning salary of

$47,000.

Great things are happening in our school district, and it’s because of the outstanding teachers and staff who grace our buildings and work with our students every day. We will continue to maintain our focus and know that our efforts are resulting in growth for our students in many ways. Thank you to the community for your support.
