Local Groups Renovate Green Pond Home

Volunteers from numerous local organizations came together to renovate the exterior of a Green Pond home. Pastor Dave of the Jacksonboro Baptist Church and Curtis Magwood of the Agape Word of the Promise Ministries Church took up an offering to help pay for the project.

Jamie Harrelson says, “My father, JP Harrelson had a saying, when he was senator, for Colleton County: always look out for the little man meaning those that are less fortunate than us. He was a champion for the underprivileged. I could never equal his gift to this community, but some way I would like to think I’m carrying on his tradition by and someway giving back to the community.”

Among the repairs that took place was replacement of the wood on the side of the house which was deteriorating, at such a fast rate they only had about five more years of life before the whole house may have caved in.

Also participating in the project was Richard Westbury, of Westbury Ace Hardware , Scott Webber of Webber’s Painting, and David Magwood contributed funds and pressure washed the structure.
