Indians off to 2-0 start

The USC- Salkehatchie Indians men’s basketball team improved to 2-0 following an 83-62 win over South Georgia Tech Saturday January 30 at home. 

Ronny Walker Jr scored 22 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and had 4 assists in the win. Derrick Sinkler Jr added 12 points. Other scoring included Cincere Scott 10, Damontrez Ruffin 7, Dishon Daniels 6, Jordan Guthrie 6, Kharye Cayne 5, Chris Nobles 5, Reginal Campbell 4, Trevur Smalls 4, and Kingston Johnston 2. 

“I am super proud of our guys for the focus and effort tonight,” said Coach Glen Mayo, following Saturday’s game. “They really bought into defending for 40 minutes and it paid off. Shoutout to the best fans in the country, also. We couldn’t do it without the support of the community.”

The Indians were scheduled to host Tallahassee College Tuesday February 2 before traveling to Georgia Highlands College Friday in Rome, Georgia and South Georgia Tech in Americus, Georgia on Saturday.
