Get Out the Vote: Voter Engagement and Mobilization Training

On March 23, 2024, the Walterboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated hosted a Get Out the Vote: Voter Engagement and Mobilization training.  The nonpartisan training was provided by Mr. Brandon Upson (See www.BrandonUpson.com for more information about the trainer).  The training was well attended by a diverse group of community members, candidates, campaign managers, and elected officials. The lunch and learn training provided the participants the knowledge necessary to connect and engage with potential voters and organize their communities to increase voter participation.  

 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded  on January 13, 1913, by 22 young women studying at Howard University.  They sought to create an organization rooted in sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action.  Since its founding, Delta Sigma Theta has become one of the preeminent service-based sororities with over 350,000 initiated women and over 1,000 chapters located worldwide.  The Walterboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on September 8, 1980, in Walterboro, South Carolina.
