According to the The Island News, Hank Amundson, along with three other Beaufort County administrators are the subject of State Ethics Investigations. Amundson is currently the Special Assistant to the Beaufort County Administrator. The allegations against Amundson are the purchase of a sponsorship in the name of Beaufort County for the RBC Heritage PGA tournament in March of 2023. Beaufort County never had a hospitality tent at the tournament according to the complainant. Said hospitality tent and sky box was to contain tickets to the tournament and access to alcohol. The allegations further state Amundson went to the tournament daily with his son and Eric Greenway former Beaufort County Administrator, who is also involved in the ethics investigations. Furthermore, the complaint states the invoices for the purchases golf tournament related items were hidden by Amundson for several months.
