On December 1, the First Thursday’s “Mingle & Jingle On Main” had the best turnout from the community since its return in October.

Some of the merchants on the street stayed open for the evening and were joined by many new vendors for the day. Several food trucks offered a variety of items to choose from as well.

Seasonal music filled the air to set the tone for the evening festivities, as a pound class set things into motion in the middle of the street.

Near the waterfall, the Grinch posed for pictures, and face painters were out to offer their talents to those who wanted to put on a festive face for the night.

Santa even made an appearance by horse-drawn carriage to wave hello as he passed by.

The downtown merchants are thankful for the support the community has shown.

This was the last First Thursday of the season. Downtown merchants will go before Walterboro City Council to propose extending the events after the first of the year.
