An event for Colleton County School District’s international teachers was held March 15. Cultural Kaleidoscope is a cultural event to share and celebrate the cultures of CCSD’s international teachers’ home countries.
Upon entering the gym there were the wonderful smells from food, bright colors of clothes from their respective countries, and smiles all around the gym. The teachers also participated in songs, games, and dances.
Speaking with Dr. Har Tatel and Rachana Bohnsle, team leaders for the international teachers, there are 46 international teachers representing 8 different countries from around the world.
It has been said that love and music are the international languages. Maybe it is also teaching. Otherwise, it would be hard to explain these people who leave their homes, travel around the world and impart their passion and knowledge to students.
