The second annual Community Trunk or Treat was held on October 31 at Ivanhoe Family Cinemas with In His Name-Colleton (IHN) and the Colleton County Arts Council helping to support the event. More than 1,000 kids attended the event.

Children lined up around the entire shopping mall to visit over 30 open trunks, tents and booths sponsored by businesses and non-profits from Colleton County. Beginning at 3:00 p.m., a steady stream of costumed children and parents filed through the event. Even pets got in on the action as many of them were dressed for Halloween.

A decorating contest made the day even more exciting.

Adding to the day’s events included a “Mac and Cheese Cookoff,” two jump castles and a tractor train that took children through the parking lot.

“This was an amazing success,” said IHN manager Amanda Herndon. “We are so grateful for everyone’s participation.”
