Carolina Reds earn End of Summer Qualifier Championship



The Carolina Reds 15U travel baseball team finished 4-0 in the USSSA End of Summer Qualifier held August 28-29 in North Charleston. The Reds outscored their opponents 41-2 in the tournament, holding three teams scoreless.

In pool play, the Carolina Reds defeated the Dungeon Dogs 8-0 and the SC Storm 14-0. On day two of the tournament, the Reds entered seeded in the top-spot and went on to remain undefeated winning 16-0 over the SC Storm and 3-2 against the Dungeon Dogs.

The Carolina Red’s roster includes Alejandro Marin, Wylan Sheffield, Grayson Martin, Asher Robertson, Brinton Jirel, Britton Phillips, Daveon Varner, Devin Miller, Spencer Kelehear, Tanner Caldwell, and Xavier Oxner. Guest players who played in this past weekend’s tournament are Michael Witkin and Galil Frazier who play on the 13U team. They are coached by Jack Drawdy, Keith Jirel, and Spencer Kelehear.

The 13U Carolina Reds are looking to expand and is in search of two-to-three experienced players to fill the roster. Interested players should turn 14 years of age after May 1, 2022. For more information, contact Lonnie Snelgrove at 843-998-5776.
