Green Pond was faced with another tragedy Sunday July 2. Multiple individuals were stabbed and then abandoned to perish in a fire currently being investigated as arson.

Ryan Leonard Manigo has been charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and is facing further charges of four additional counts of murder. The additional charges are anticipated to be filed by Duffie Stone, S.C. 14th Circuit Solicitor. Arson charges may also be brought by the state.

To add to the tragedy one of the two victims was Sariya Manigo who was the daughter of Ryan Manigo. Also stabbed was Michele Marie Wright, Ryan Manigo’s sister-in-law. The lone survivor of the crime was a thirteen-year-old girl who provided authorities the first name, description, and a description of his vehicle which led to Manigo’s capture.

Manigo appeared in Colleton County Magistrate’s Court July 3. The ruling given was Manigo’s bond be deferred until arraignment on the murder charges by a circuit court judge which is required by law. As such, Manigo is held at the Colleton County detention center until his formal bond hearing.
