On May 23, 2023 Grace Minelva Washington who attends the PreK program at Blackstreet Early Childhood Center received a certificate from the 1000 Books Foundation for reading 1000 books before Kindergarten. Grace has a log with all of her books The Colleton County Memorial Library said Grace is the first person to accomplish this goal. Grace will be entering Kindergarten this coming fall.
