SC Department of Agriculture Brings Farm-Fresh Produce to Rural Communities
ChangeSC, an initiative of the South Carolina Department of Agriculture, is proud to announce that Y’all Pick pop-up farmers markets are open for the spring season. The weekly markets, designed to bring locally grown produce directly to neighborhoods in areas with limited access to fresh food, make it easier than ever to choose healthy, local options grown by South Carolina farmers.
South Carolina is home to more than 22,600 farms, yet more than one million people in the state live in areas with little to no access to fresh produce. ChangeSC is working to change that by connecting communities to nearby farms through pop-up markets, local partnerships, and food access programs like Y’all Pick.
The following local market is now open for spring:
Cottageville: Blue Sky Sunny Day Farm – Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (10661 Cottageville Hwy, Cottageville, SC 29435)
From selecting locally grown foods to engaging directly with the farmers behind the produce, Y’all Pick offers more than just fresh groceries—it fosters community connection and supports a culture of healthy, local eating.
