A 36-year-old woman was shot in the head during an altercation in the 200 block of Clatty Farm Road in Ruffin on Tuesday Jan. 12 about 8:20 a.m.
Colleton County Sheriff’s deputies and Colleton Fire-Rescue responded to find the woman semi-conscious in the yard.
She was transported by ambulance with additional firefighter-paramedics to the MUSC trauma center, as the helicopter could not fly due to weather conditions.
A small child in the residence was not injured.
