Woman is run over by car during assault

A Colleton County man is accused of running over a local woman with his car. The incident caused serious injury to the victim. According to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the crime occurred at a house on Jefferies Boulevard on May 7. However, the incident was reported to authorities on the following day, May 8. The incident report states that the suspect “became upset” with the victim and then intentionally ran over the victim with the car. The suspect fled the scene. The victim suffered injuries to her leg and arm which required medical treatment.

Angry husband fires gun at wife’s feet

A man is accused of shooting a gun near his wife’s feet. According to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a deputy was called to a house on Featherbed Road on May 16 to a reported domestic case. When the deputy arrived, the male suspect told the deputy that he and his wife were arguing when he shot the gun into the ground. However, the victim told authorities that the suspect arrived to her house and threatened to kill her. The suspect was apparently angry with his wife because she was the location with another man. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s pistol and shot into the ground in front of her: the bullet missed the victim’s foot by about six inches, the report states. This case remains under investigation.

Woman swats husband

Deputies were called to a Colleton County house on May 16 to a report of assault. When they arrived, the woman had hit her husband with a fly swatter, according to an incident report. No other details on this case are known. Gun-yielding mom alarms son A Smoaks woman is charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person. According to a sheriff’s office incident report, the woman’s son called 911 and said his mother had a gun and had shot it. It is unclear if the woman was aiming toward her son.

Man calls meth his 'only bad habit'

A Colleton County is man is charged with possession of methamphetamine. According to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the man was stopped by a deputy on May 10 because the man’s vehicle had a defective brake light. While speaking to the suspect during the traffic stop, the deputy asked the man if there were any illegal guns or drugs in the car. The man said no and the deputy then asked to search the vehicle. The man refused to give consent. Then, the deputy called for a K9, that gave a positive alert. Deputies found .58 grams of meth, drug paraphernalia, including a noodle, .33 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe. The man told then the deputy that meth was his only bad habit, and that he wasn’t “stealing” stuff like everybody else, the report states. The man was taken to jail.
