Williams to get new mayor, council members

The Town of Williams is looking to fill several seats in its leadership cabinet, incluindg a new mayor and four town council members.

The at-large election means that anyone who is a resident in the town can be a candidate: there are no certain seats assigned to districts within the town.

This election is also non-partisan, meaning there is no political affiliation for the candidates.

Filing for candidates opens at noon on Monday, Jan. 24th and will stay open until noon on Friday, Feb. 4th. There is no filing fee. However, candidates must submit the required forms, which include a Non-partisan statement of intention of candidacy form, which is found at www.scvotes.org. candidates must also fill out the Statement of Economic Interest and the Campaign Disclosure Forms, all of which must be completed online at www.ethics.sc.gov.

Williams will hold its election on Tuesday, April 12th.
