Who is winning Democrats or Republicans? | Faith

Ephesians 6:12
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Recently, our country held free elections for many offices from the local to the national level. What we saw was a lot of back and forth about the positions and the plans that each side would take as they pitched their ideas to the voters to make them the next office holder.
While our free process allows these differences to continue, it is meant to have the various positions collide at the ballot box, and for the process to be legal and fair and finished. For whatever reason you or I may have concluded within our own minds, it is not over and nobody knows who the final outcome will favor.
Thankfully, in our local elections, we have good and honest people running for office and managing the election process. I know many of these good people and because of their discipline and dedication to the freedom we all enjoy, we can rest assured that in Colleton County, it matters!
So, who is winning?
The real contest (or conflict as we ought to see it) is not between Democrats or Republicans or any other group or association. The real battle is fought within the heart mind and soul of every single individual. It is a battle between good and evil, between righteousness and sin. This battle may reveal itself in our political choices, but it actually begins within the heart.
The Bible says that the human heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. So much so that nobody can know their own heart. A heart that is surrendered to Jesus Christ is clean and forgiven by the grace of God and can be used of God to guide and direct our choices and opinions towards the clear teachings of Christ and His Holy Word. The battleground is the world we live in and the prize is the hearts, minds and souls of mankind.
When we look at our broken world and see the evils that persist, we may often wonder “Who is winning?”
Sadly, too many churches, “Christians” and even so-called preachers have lowered their standards to accept what God’s Word calls immorality and wickedness. Hypocrisy and pretense accurately describe many who claim to live for Christ and go to church. It appears that all too often, sin, selfishness and Satan may be winning the battle for the culture.
It’s not over yet!
I love watching a good comeback. The underdog team coming into the last of the game without a chance and somehow pulling through to win. Last laps and last quarters and last innings have a way of turning the whole thing around.
While it is sad to see how much sin has taken from our society and how little is being done to turn the tide, “It’s not over yet.”
As a Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ is the answer for every social and societal ill. I believe that the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus is the key to transforming the mind, heart and soul of every individual — ultimately changing the course of a culture and a nation. I am praying for a revival in our country.
I believe that people from every walk of life and every background can be changed by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The answer our country seeks is not going to be found in who becomes the next president or who wins the next election after that, but the answer will be found when each and every individual recognizes his or her own spiritual and sinful condition, repents before God, and accepts Jesus Christ as his or her personal Saviour.
I realize that many “claim” to have done this already; and yet they still continue living in their revolving door of sin and society’s ills. The Bible says that if a person has truly been saved, they are made new by the power of the Gospel. It is not just something we do or say, but something miraculous that Christ does from the inside, out!
So, for you, this election needs to be more than the political spectacle we are enduring, but a choice you make in your own heart for Jesus Christ!
Jesus has done everything that God required to save our souls. Now the decision is yours. Cast your vote towards Jesus Christ today!

Repent: be sorry for your sin and turn away from your sin to God.
Believe the Gospel: Put your full trust in Christ alone for the salvation of your eternal soul. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is enough to pay for all your sins and make you a child of God.
Turn to Jesus Christ today and trust Him today as your Lord and Saviour.
If I can help you with this eternally important decision, contact me today.
Will you put your faith in Jesus alone to be your Saviour and Lord?
