What's closed in the county

Posted

Colleton County is concerned about the health and well-being of residents and visitors. County leadership, including public safety and emergency management officials, continues to closely monitor developments related to Coronavirus Disease 2019, commonly called Coronavirus or COVID-19. While county offices and facilities are open, we encourage those with underlying health conditions or age-related factors that make them more vulnerable to COVID-19 and those who are at risk for COVID-19 due to travel or other factors to follow DHEC public guidance on social distancing for COVID-19, consider staying home and limit your interaction to telephone, email and U.S. mail to conduct business with county offices.
At 12 p.m. Monday, Colleton County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) moved to Operational Condition (OpCon) 2. OpCon 2 puts the EOC in a state of enhanced awareness, increases communications between Colleton County Fire-Rescue’s Emergency Management Division and its emergency support function partner agencies, and allows for Colleton County’s emergency operations plan to be partially or fully implemented.

REMINDERS AND HELPFUL LINKS
The chain of command and direction and control during a public health emergency is different than what is exercised during a natural or human-made disaster. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is the lead agency. DHEC officials are working closely with our federal partners at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
If you are concerned about the coronavirus (COVID-19) or experiencing respiratory or flu-like symptoms such as fever and/or cough, MUSC recommends you speak to an online virtual care provider. Virtual COVID-19 screenings are free. Just use the code COVID19 when you follow the link below and log in to MUSC’s Telehealth service. No appointment is necessary, and this service also covers other conditions, such as allergy/hay fever, sinus infection, pink eye, sore throat, or the common cold. You can also call 843-261-5940 for more information.
