Linley Jones, Colleton Prep’s all-around female athlete, signed a softball scholarship to attend Charleston Southern University next year. Linley, the daughter of Wesley and Sonda Jones, will be attending and playing softball with her sister Weslin at CSU next year. Linley has earned nearly every award that can be given, including being named the player-of-the-year in the region last year.

When asked why she chose CSU, Linley said, “The school is close to home. I will get an opportunity to play with my sister and I am planning to major in kinesiology and enter their physician assistant program.” The all-star, all-region catcher said, “I will play anywhere the coach wants me to play.”

Linley’s catching coach Johnny Cribb had nothing but praise for his all-star pupil. Cribb said, “She is extremely hard-working, driven and a great teammate. She also works really hard on her weaknesses, which is a sign of a good player. I am confident she will make an outstanding player for CSU.”

Warhawk Coach Tiger Martin also had high praise for Linley as well. “She is dedicated to the sport, a coach on the field and is the leader of our softball team.” said Martin.
