The Colleton Prep Wrestling team was defeated in the quarterfinals of the SCISA AA State Championship Duels in a 59-18 loss against No. 1 seed Hammond. Four teams advanced to the finals including No. 1 Hammond School, No. 5 Greenwood Christian, No. 2 Ben Lippen and No. 7 Augusta Christian.
“It was an eventful evening,” said Coach Packy Burke. “In our first match, senior Ryan McMillen suffered an injury and would need medical attention. Thankfully, his injury checked out to be fine. We would go on to have three wins in a row at 106, 113 and a forfeit win at 120.”
Colleton Prep will participate in the 2021 SCISA Individual Wrestling Tournament Saturday February 13 at the Sumter County Civic Center beginning at 10 a.m.
