On Saturday, Jan 21the Walterboro Elks Lodge # 1988 held their Annual Hoop Shoot Free-throw Completion at the Colleton County Rec Center. There was a good turnout of kids competing in the 2022-2023 “Hoop Shoot.”
The first-place winners were:
Boys aged 8-9 division: Javion Stephens, Boys aged 10-11division: Tyler Holmes, Boys aged 12-13 division: Sam Witkin, Girls aged 10-11division: Starkell Williams, and Girls aged 12-13 division: Brooklyn Stuard.
Winners will compete again in Charleston for the “District Hoop Shoot” on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 1p.m. at the Citadel Mall.
A special thank you is extended to Larry McDonald, Shane McDonald, Rhonda McDonald, Paul Turner, Jerri Turner, Pam Berry, John Koger, Ernest Enfinger, Jo Ann Goodhope, Mark Murdaugh, Beth Murdaugh, Bob Tiegs, Angus Patterson, Mary Jo Fox, Robert Howard, and Roman Cunningham for all their support and hard work to make this event happen.
