Mr. Wallace Russell Craven, 81, of Round O, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 7, 2020. He was the younger son of the late Heber W. Craven and the late Alese C. Craven.

Mr. Craven retired from Asten Hill in 1999 with 36 years of service.  Then he enjoyed his true vocation…working on the farm and fishing.  He was a lifelong member of Providence United Methodist Church and held several offices.

He was married to Jacqueline Connelly Craven for the past 29 years.  He is survived by his wife, one son Rusty Craven (Ronda) and two daughters, Alesa Murdaugh (Curt) and Beth Ackerman, all of Round O.  He is also survived by five grandchildren:  Laura Craven, Samantha Murdaugh, Joshua Craven, Lindsey Logan (Brian) and Tanner Ackerman (Elizabeth).  There are four great-grandchildren:  Blake, Lea, Boone and Memphis.  Wallace leaves behind two aunts, Doris C. Smoak and Adeline C. Craven.  He is also survived by the closest thing he ever had to a sister, Annie Ruth Crosby, as well as by many cousins that he loved very much.  He was predeceased by his brother, Judson Craven and sister-in-law Jessie O. Craven, and by a granddaughter Allie Murdaugh.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2020 at 2:30 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral home, with burial following in the Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, or to the Epworth Children's Home.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
