Virginia Smith Blanton, 91, of Cottageville, SC, wife of William Stoney Blanton, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Funeral Services were held Saturday afternoon, September 4, 2021 at 2 o'clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Maple Cane Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 1 o'clock until the time of service at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted. Virginia was born September 5, 1929 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Arthur L. Smith and Kathuryn Driggers Smith.
She retired as a seamstress from Miss Noah's Toy Making, Inc. and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She also was a part of the Rekindle Society and the South Carolina State Firefighter's Association.
In addition to her husband, William S. Blanton of Cottageville, SC, Virginia leaves behind her two sons, William "Richard" Blanton (Delisa) and Lee Morrison "Marty" Blanton (Gloria), both of Bonneau Beach, SC; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents; daughter, Billy Jean Spath; and brothers, Herbert Arthur Smith, Arthur L. Smith, Jr., and Archie I. Smith.
