Walterboro’s Urgent Care, located on Bells Highway, set up tents and tables in the parking lot of Faith Church on Saturday to give COVID-19 vaccinations.
To make it easier for patients to receive the Moderna version of the COVID-19 vaccine, nurses set up tents and chairs and gave patients their shots in the parking lot.
Additional enticements to encourage Colleton residents to get vaccinated included Urgent Care employees giving away free tote bags to those who got vaccinated. The business also had small gifts and t-shirts.
A raffle for free coolers was held on-site for patients who received vaccination shots. There was also a battery-operated child’s truck on hand for little ones to play with.
During their vaccine distribution, Urgent Care gave away sno-cones and popcorn for those waiting for their vaccine.
According to officials from Urgent Care, the goal for the day was to give out 300 vaccines.
In all, approximately 68 vaccines were distributed by Urgent Care during their vaccine clinic day.
