On Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5:14 p.m., two people were transported to a trauma center following a single-vehicle high-speed wreck in the 12500 block of Cottageville Highway, north of Cottageville.
The southbound Nissan Versa crossed the highway and entered the northbound ditch where it struck a driveway culvert. The small car became airborne and received heavy damage. Both unrestrained occupants received multiple traumatic injuries.
Two Fire-Rescue ambulances responded. A 10-year-old male was transported to the children’s trauma center at Shawn Jenkins MUSC in Charleston. The child’s mother was transported to the adult trauma center at MUSC.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
