Two adults were sent to the Trident Medical Center’s Trauma Unit following a single-vehicle, high-speed wreck on Wesley Grove Road near Sawdust Trail Sunday Dec. 15 at 7:35 p.m. The 2003 Ford Explorer left the road, drove into a wooded area and struck several trees, causing heavy damage to the small SUV. Both occupants, an adult female and an adult male, suffered multiple traumatic injuries. Fire-Rescue requested a second ambulance shortly after arrival. Both patients were quickly treated at the scene, then transported by ambulance to the North Charleston medical facility. Additional firefighter-paramedics assisted with patient care while enroute to the hospital. The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
