Two caught in York County after burglary, chase, standoff

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office has two suspects in custody after a standoff with authorities in York County.

On Monday March 2, Colleton County investigators responded to Hope Plantation to a report of numerous stolen firearms and a stolen motor vehicle.

After investigation, deputies noted 10 firearms ($8,000), five boxes of ammunition ($1,000) and a 2005 GMC Sierra were taken from this location.

On two separate occasions Colleton County deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description. Both initiations resulted in a short vehicle pursuit.

The driver of the stolen vehicle accelerated at high rates of speed, evading authorities. Colleton County deputies discontinued both pursuits due to severe weather conditions.

Colleton County investigators reached out to SLED’s Fugitive Task Force for assistance.

SLED positively identified a vehicle matching the description at a residence in York County.

The Department of Homeland Security, SLED’s SWAT team, York County SWAT and Tega Cay Police officers were involved in a standoff in York County which lasted several hours.

The suspects eventually surrendered to authorities without harm.

Hardee Baldwin and Sheena Dilauro were taken into custody and transported to the York County Jail.

Both suspects were later transported to the Colleton County Detention Center.

Baldwin is charged with burglary first and grand larceny. Dilauro is charged with burglary first degree.

Both bond hearings were held at 3 p.m. at the Colleton County Detention Center.

Bond was denied for both suspects in regards to the burglary charge.

Baldwin received a $15,000 surety bond for the grand larceny charge.
