Life is full of battles, some loud and public, others silent and private. However, the good news today is this: God does not waste battles because He transforms them into blessings. In Genesis 50:20 (NIV), Joseph tells his brothers, the same ones who betrayed him: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” That’s a man who knew what it was to fight through betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and prison, but through every low place, God was positioning him for a higher purpose. Romans 8:28 (NIV) reminds us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” All things! Not just the good stuff, but the tears, the trials, the setbacks! God doesn’t skip the storms; He works through them.
Read, ponder, and share this illustration about a woman named “Ms. Clara.” A single mother of three daughters and one son, she worked two jobs, rarely had a day off, and battled sickness more than once. Her biggest battle came when her teenaged son was arrested. He was caught with the wrong crowd, facing charges, ultimately breaking Ms. Clara’s heart. The community gossiped; some even laughed about the situation, but she prayed. Here’s the plot twist. While in juvenile detention, her son met a chaplain who introduced him to Jesus. That same young man would eventually get out, turn his life around, and become a youth pastor, reaching kids just like the one he used to be. What looked like defeat became a divine setup. Ms. Clara’s battle became her blessing! James 1:2-3 (ESV) says, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” God does not promise a battle-free life; however, He promises that the battle has a purpose. You might be in the heat of it right now by facing loss, hardship, and uncertainty. Consequently, hold on to this truth: Your greatest pain could be the seed of your greatest purpose.
So don’t curse the battle! Pray, praise, and push through it because the same God who allowed you to step into the valley will walk you out with victory, wisdom, and a testimony dripping with oil. Hey Glory! Let God turn your battle into a blessing, not just for you, but for somebody else watching your faith shine through the fire. Always abound in the faith, and never leave home without Him!
