Colleton County deputies discovered 43 marijuana plants with a potential street value of $86,000 on Thursday June 4.

Deputies responded to 2410 Cane Branch Rd., after a bail bondsman observed a large quantity of marijuana growing inside the residence while searching for an individual with warrants in a neighboring county. Upon further investigation, deputies found not only the 43 marijuana plants, but high-intensity lights, and additional devices used for air circulation purposes.

Joshua Washburn, 36, of Colleton County was arrested, charged with manufacturing of marijuana. If convicted, Washburn could face up to 10 years in prison and have to pay up to $10,000 in fines.
