Three injured on Cannon Rd.

Three people were injured in a single-vehicle wreck in the 2300 block of Cannon Road Wednesday afternoon June 3 at 7:15 p.m.

A northbound Ford pickup truck dropped off of the right shoulder, over-corrected, entered the southbound ditch and struck a ditch embankment. The truck received heavy damage and the three unrestrained occupants suffered multiple injuries.

Two Fire-Rescue ambulances responded to the scene. An adult female suffered head and facial injuries and an adult male also suffered facial, but non-life threatening, injuries.

Both patients were transported by ambulance to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

The adult male driver refused transportation to the hospital.

Both lanes of Cannon Road were blocked for over an hour.

The pickup truck lost most of its load, including two five-gallon buckets of paint which covered the roadway. Several bystanders assisted in cleaning debris from the road and Fire-Rescue’s crew used a booster line to wash most of the paint from the roadway.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
