The truth will make you free

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 8:32

The truth about self

Let’s begin with you … the most interesting subject in your life

Everything you do, you do with you!

You project the image of “you” that you want everyone to see and know.

Whether “you” are really you or not, you spend a lot of time and effort to make us all see and think about the “you” that you are presenting. However, there is a problem…

The problem with “you” is the same problem of every other person on the planet … sin

We are all sinners! We have all broken one or more of God’s holy commandments. God said that if you have broken one, then you have broken them all! There is no getting around the fact that you are a sinner and have fallen short of the glory of God (your life is not a testimony of God’s glory, but of yourself and your sin.) Many people will see themselves as they are, and admit their fallen condition, only to try and start doing “better.” How can you do “better” when you are a fallen and broken sinner? You cannot save yourself.

The propensity of self is the inclination to more sin.

While you may impress yourself or those around you with your new and improved behavior, the root of the problem is still deep within … sin. Some people have overcome some incredible challenges in their life only to stand before God and be cast into the lake of fire, because they have never been saved from their sin.

There’s more…

The truth about Satan

You must not forget about the devil … he will take your confused and broken life straight to the lake of fire with him. He doesn’t care about you.

The devil is smarter than you. The devil is stronger than you. The devil has lied to you. He lied when he told you that you have plenty of time to get your life straightened out. He lied when he told you that you are already OK.

The devil is also looking for you. The devil doesn’t want you to be saved by the grace of God and through the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil will do whatever he can to deceive you and destroy you. The devil will distract you from the message of this article and he will attract you to focus on something else … anything else! The devil will do whatever he can to take you to a Christ-less eternity in the lake of fire!

The truth about the Saviour

Now that we have a clear and accurate picture of self and Satan, let’s look at the solution: Jesus Christ, the Saviour.

Growing up in America, and especially the “South,” you have heard the name of Jesus used many times … often in slang or even profanity.

Simply knowing about Jesus is not enough!

You need a personal relationship with Christ as your Lord and Saviour: Lord equals Master, minus Saviour equals forgiveness of sins and a changed life.

The love of Christ

The Bible is clear on the fact that Jesus loves you … just like you are.

You are not expected to be somebody else to get His attention.

Jesus sees and knows all that is broken and messed up inside your heart and mind and He loves you anyway.

Jesus has heard all your excuses and understands your point of view, yet He loves you anyway.

Jesus knows how many times you have failed. How many times did you did sin on purpose? And He loves you anyway!

The life of Christ

Jesus lived his life in complete perfection before God and was qualified to be the perfect sacrifice for all the sins of the world, including yours.

Jesus gave his life on the cross of Calvary, shedding His precious blood, so that you might be saved from your life of sin.

This is the truth that never changes, but it will change your life and set you free!

Jesus loves you and He did something about it!

Jesus died on the cross, was buried and rose again from the dead to offer to me and you the opportunity to become children of God and be forgiven of all our sins.

Will you put your faith in Jesus alone to be your Saviour and Lord?

Let me know if you have trusted Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.
