The Walterboro Running Club (WRC) will host this year’s Thanksgiving Day 5K Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 25 with an 8 a.m. start planned.

This year’s walk/run will follow previous years routes, beginning at the corner of Klein Street and Washington Street between the Colleton County Magistrate’s Office and the Harrelson Building. WRC plans to post the official route in the next few days on their Facebook site. Parking will be available in the City Parking Lot by Walterboro Wildlife Sanctuary.

According to Walterboro Running Club volunteer, Holly Mardell, this year’s Turkey Run will be a casual run/walk among friends with no registration required in advance or day-of. In addition, the event will not be officially scored or timed.

“We would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce for donating the medals for those who participate in Thursday morning’s run/walk,” said Mardell. “We invite everyone to come out and join us for a few miles before sitting down with family and friends to partake in all the goodness of the holiday.”
