Mr. Tex Franklin Roberts, husband of Lynn Craven Roberts, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.  He was 79.

Tex was born July 19, 1940 in Columbia, a son of the late Charlie H. Roberts and Lilly Headden Roberts.  His gift for drawing and painting led him to a successful career as the owner and operator of "Signs Express".  Over the years he created countless signs and banners of every type, and pinstriped and named an untold number of boats, cars and trucks for people throughout the Lowcountry and state of South Carolina.  Tex possessed an outgoing personality and was a friend to all.  He loved car shows, auctions and fishing…but was well-known for "Pappy's Old Fashioned Lemonade" a hobby through which he supplied delicious refreshment for church functions, family gatherings, and many other events.  He will truly be missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children: Terron  Roberts (Pam) and Brad Roberts of Walterboro, Tammy Crosby (Tommy) of Smoaks, Tiffany Roberts, and Dannielle Moore of Walterboro.  There are five grandchildren: Kayla and Austin Crosby, Kelsey Roberts, Mary Hickman and Jaden Jenkins .  He has one great-grandchild, Hadleigh Crosby.  Tex was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kristin Leigh Roberts, and by a brother T. J. Roberts.  He is also survived by his beloved dog, Peaches.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday morning, July 10, 2020 at 11:00 at Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
