Talking Loud and Saying Nothing!

“In a Court of Law, evidence is only admitted if it exists. It is not admitted because someone says it exists. A court needs proof. It needs to see, verify, and test all evidence before it can be admitted. We, as Christians, tell the unbelieving world that Christianity is a life of joy, strength, courage, forgiveness, love, and grace. But we are often guilty of not exhibiting any evidence. We should question where is the evidence of Christ in my life” (Free Christian Illustrations).

You can tell someone all day that you are a Christian: saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost. However, are you demonstrating that statement in your daily life? If you are truly a Christian, others will see it for themselves. Second Corinthians 5:20 (ESV) affirms, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” Your Christian walk must be one of example, not mere words. If it is not, then you are talking loud and saying nothing!

God wants you to witness to others about His love, but your most important witness is your life-living. Don’t say that you are a Christian if you know that someone in your neighborhood is hungry, and you refuse to share what you have to eat. Don’t say that you are a Christian if you know a child is being abused and you refuse to inform the authorities; by not reporting the abuse, you are a part of the problem, not the solution. Further, don’t say that you are a Christian if you can afford to donate to a charitable organization, yet you refuse to let go of one brown penny.

Being Christians doesn’t mean that we are perfect; we are far, far from it! No one is perfect except for the Father in Heaven. However, as we live, we strive for perfection, to be more like Him. If we want to bring others to Christ, we must let our light shine so that others will see Jesus in us. The non-believers do not need to hear empty words about Christ from us; they desperately need to see Christ daily in our actions. We must be so careful not to lose a would-be Christian by exhibiting hypocritical actions. Always abound in the faith, and never leave home without Him!
