Colleton County Middle School reported a damaged vending machine inside the school, during the Thanksgiving holiday break. An investigation revealed that on November 29th and December 1st, video surveillance captured four individuals inside the school and several items were stolen.
Detectives from the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office received numerous tips on December 3rd from the public and identified four individuals involved in the burglary of the middle school. Two offenders are juveniles from out of town, while the two adults are Phillip Henry Lucas (21) and his brother, James Carroll Lucas (22), and are residents of Walterboro.
Both men are charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree and one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. They each received a $40,000 bond.
