Parents, get to your keyboards and get ready to register your child online for summer youth programs at the Colleton County Recreation Department.
Summer youth camp registrations are about to open, with the kick-off happening on May 15th. This is for several youth camps, including Girls Softball Camp, Boys Basketball Camp, Girls Basketball Camp, Soccer Camp and Golf Camp.
All of these programs are for Colleton County youth, ages 6 to 12. Parents and/or legal guardians of children can register for these summer camps online, at www.colleton.recdesk.com.
Last year, attendance in these kid camps varied, depending on the sport. Basketball was the most well-attended, according to Colleton County Recreation Department Director Chris Myers.
“Our goal is to have about 25 students per camp, per sport,” he said. “Depending on how signs-ups start, we may have to cap attendance,” he added.
Coaches for these camps are volunteers who come from other sporting leagues in the community.
“Last summer, we were very fortunate that USC Salk and Colleton County High School coaches helped us. This is our plan for this year, as well,” he said.

Youth Volleyball
Registration for the 2022 Youth Volleyball Season at the Colleton County Recreation Department is now open. Registration started May 1st and lasts until July 1st.
The regular season begins July 11th.
