Orangeburg Prep captured the CPA Holiday Tournament Championship after defeating St. John Christian 61-13. Earlier in the five-team tournament, Orangeburg Prep defeated Andrew Jackson Academy 48-23 to advance to the championship game.
The Lady Hawks fell to St. John’s Christian 52-31 Wednesday December 29 and lost 62-35 to Andrew Jackson Academy later in the week to finish in fourth place.
Hannah Strickland scored 15 points against St. John’s to lead the Lady Hawks. Other scoring included Lana Catterton 6, Anne Hatcher White 4, Taylor Tomedolskey 4, and Kara Fargnoli 2.
In the loss to Andrew Jackson Academy, Sidney Bailey led on the boards with 10 points. Other scoring included Tomedolskey 7, White 6, Strickland 5, Catterton 4, and Fargnoli 3.
Colleton Prep (1-8) will enter SCISA Region IV-AA competition beginning Tuesday, January 4 on the road against Hilton Head Christian before hosting Thomas Heyward on Friday, January 7.
