An outdoor storage building was destroyed and a mobile home damaged Monday, May 19th on Hwy 63 in the Islandton Community. Colleton County Fire-Rescue was notified of the storage building fire by a 911 caller. Fire Fighter-Paramedics arrived to find the small wood frame structure fully involved and had already collapsed. The heat from the fire damaged a nearby mobile home and utility trailer. Firefighters protected and cooled the mobile home, then extinguished the remains of the storage building. No one was injured in the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
