A large storage building, and its contents were heavily damaged in an afternoon fire on Bowers Road in Green Pond, Sunday February 2nd. An unattended fire in a burn barrel spread through the yard and into a wooded area, before reaching the storage building. Crews arrived to find the building heavily involved. Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics deployed two handlines to extinguish the fire in the building and yard. They also protected two other nearby storage buildings. Crews had to unload the burning contents to completely extinguish the fire.
