WALTERBORO:     Mr. Miltiadis Stamatopoulas, husband of the late Nicolina Salerno, passed away peacefully Monday morning, June 16, 2025 ay his home in Walterboro at the age of 97.   He was born May 15, 1928 in Greece, a son of the late Hristos Stamatopoulas and the late Maria Moustakis Stamatopoulas.  A machinist and lathe worker by trade, he emigrated to the United States from Athens, Greece in 1972, and worked in the factories of Worchester, MA until retiring to Walterboro many years ago to be near his son.  Milto attended St. Anthony Catholic Church with his late wife Nicolina, but was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Communion in Charleston.   Milto is survived by his son, Dimitrio Stamatopoulas, and by his grandsons Miltiadis and Hristos Stamatopoulas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025 at 11:00 at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Communion, 30 Race Street, Charleston, SC  29403.  Committal services will be held at 1:00 at the Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
